Optical Engineer
Description:
We have an immediate opening for an Optical Engineer who will be responsible for the optical design, optimization and manufacturing support of all precision lens assemblies.
Job Expectations:
Develop and support production builds of new and existing Opto-Mechanical lens assemblies.
Support optical assembly processes for existing products, including implementation of design changes, process improvements, troubleshooting and correction actions.
Interface with manufacturing, process engineering, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure customer requirements are met.
Support Design for Assembly and Design for Manufacturing efforts to develop and drive product and process improvements.
Understand manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process improvements of new and/or existing product lines.
Skills Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Optical Design.
Relevant and practical experience implementing design systems.
Comprehensive understanding of the opto-mechanical designs of precision assemblies.
Proficient in CodeV and Zemax.
Working knowledge and experience using CAD/Solidworks.
Positive reputation assisting customers and working with internal employees.
